The end of the story – La fine della storia

Siamo al termine, oggi si chiude una storia, una storia gloriosa che dura da decenni, oggi si è svolto a New Delhi l’ultimo evento di una specialità stupenda, ma anche l’ultimo atto di una tragedia sportiva.

Torben Grimmel è l’ultimo vincitore di una finale di 50m Prone, l’ultimo perché non ce ne saranno più altre.

Sono stato sempre critico nei confronti delle finali, e continuerò ad esserlo, ma in questo particolare caso debbo ammettere che il vincitore ha ultra-meritato il primo posto.

Grimmel aveva dominato la stagione, contrastato in modo efficace solo dal tedesco Junghaenel, quindi è assolutamente giusto che sia lui a portare l’ultima corona.

 

 

 

Resta l’amaro in bocca per la consapevolezza dell’inevitabile danno che la cancellazione dal programma olimpico, dalle gare di Coppa del Mondo e dalla relativa Finale causerà alla specialità di carabina più praticata a livello mondiale.

La 50m Prone comunque non è morta, e sta a noi tiratori di Prone dimostrare che merita di vivere e che può vivere anche fuori dal programma olimpico.
