The trigger weight (1.5 kg at a time) that did not give me big problems on the prone test I find it well manageable even on standing position , though I have to develop a different shooting technique than I normally use.
I'm really good impressed by the response of the weapon, I'm pretty used to the "caresses" of 308 Winchester, but my FS weighs (as a rule) under 5.5 Kg, I'm expecting what jumps, instead the firing behavior is incredibly regular, the right word is SINCERE, the weapon reacts regularly, the shoot is nicely and well absorbed, the weapon rises vertically and falls perfectly on the target, I start thinking that my coach was right when he was telling me and repeated me "You have to shoot with Standard Rifle is what you need to improve."

The first prone test gave us some satisfaction 😊 now
we have to try to set the rifle in the other two positions, standing and
kneeling.
Of the two one that I'm most worried about is the standing position, there are several doubt points to check:
The first is the stock, we need to see if the measures we chose are suitable for the standing position shooting, if the positions of the head, shoulder and left hand can be taken properly without forcing.
In the prone position shooting the handle had been a little tiny for my hand, and the inclination of the hand on the handle was felt during the longer series, we will now on standing.
In the Standard Rifle events, no change can be made on the weapon during the match, or it is not allowed to move the cheek-piece in the various positions, so I respect the rules, no changes, only slightly forward the diopter, and obviously remove the hand-stop.
Also for these tests we are guests at Colle Val d'Elsa TSN , I attend various shooting range for training in various events, but Colle is definitely one of the hospitable, every time it is like being family and everyone from office staff to range officer make all to help you and make you comfortable.
As always seeing an full-bore academic shooter causes a bit of curiosity among the regular 300 meter
it was already so with my 300m Free Rifle, the Standard Rifle attracts even more attention, perhaps because of its more traditional form, perhaps because honestly besides being a "shooting iron" is also aesthetically pleasing and makes its shape in rack
At Colle to pull up, you have to enter "in the pit" or go down into a small trap that lowers the position of those 15 cm that make the shot does not interfere with the shed, considering they are a bit narrow but comfortable enough.
For the first shots I still use Lapua Scenar with 167 grains, then I'll go to something lighter, as I did in the time for the 300FR 3x40 events.
After some blank shot shooting 5 approach strokes, just to hear how the weapon reacts, I immediately notice several things:
The stock is long, at least for me I am used to arms from the shorter calf, this length of the Standard Rifle imposes me a different shoulder position and consequently I have to put the kick on my right arm that I must hold higher than normal.
